The man in the suit
And the fur welly boot
Was delivering toys to the kids,
There were elves in the streets
Who were sending out tweets
And the reindeer were down on the skids,
There were ho-ho-ho's
And sweets lined in rows
There was candy and cake and mulled wine,
Was it Yuletide onset
Or a three-to-one bet
Was it yours, was it hers, was it mine?
There were Uncles and Grannies
And Great-Aunty Fannies
There were hounddogs flaked out for a snooze,
Was I sleeping or dreaming
Or plotting or scheming
Or had I just had too much ruddy booze.
